Technology in Tow
We live in a world of technology tools
magic wands, wants and weapons of wonder (lust)
ever-changing, ever growing, ever becoming itself
as itself becomes another.
What is becoming to one
has become for another
and is quite unbecoming to others.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder,
lest the beholder becomes beheld.
In the absence of space
that now takes the place
of the possible lost or
possibly gone or undone.
Becoming and unbecoming are two haves or have nots
of the same and sameless hole,
the doughnut to which is the context within
which the hole finds itself safe at home,
which home finds the hole but a part of itself
which is not when itself is alone.
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts
when the forces of nature conspire.
The whole is the heart of the matter
whose presence enables the holes to be,
the former empowering the latter’s spaciousness
to be true to the truth of the matter.
A hole is the essence of matterlessness
that retreats as the matter expands,
and the matter expands in technology space
to serve people's requests or demands
The veil of matter here, there and yon
is the energy from which it was born,
borne to the matter before us is change
whose uncertain aftermath after the fact
is a scene that remains to remain.
Technology is a matter of energy spent
in pursuit of the goal of intention,
the mind and the heart and soul and the will
of the mother of invention,
the maker of matter in the wake of a thought
which in deed was made long, long ago.
Bearing wellsprings of offspring of matters of mind
in the eyes of the minds of creators,
it is used or abused by those who want
or need or lust or refuse
to appreciate the current state
or believe they have nothing to lose
Innocent, insolent, wandering forth
technology knows no rules.
It follows the lead of those who need or seek or desire or choose
to change the world or change their lives
or vie for the attention of others.
Technology is as technology does at the whim and the will of the willful.
Neither good, bad or ugly, it humbly serves those who
seek its support in doing what has yet to be done
For better or worse or neither or nor
or labor of love
or fancy or fun or
expression of self
or gift to the gods
or god to the gift of more.
A tool or a toy to make tools or toys, technology is but means to an end. The end may be near or the end may be far, but by no means the source of creation. For those who fear and those who doubt the power of techno-invention, question not the role of the tool or the toy but the will and the won’t of intention.
